A vital part of our organization is American Law Institute-American Bar Association Continuing Professional Education, known as ALI-ABA. In 1947 the American Bar Association asked the Institute to collaborate in organizing a national program of continuing education of the bar, and the Institute agreed to take on the task. ALI-ABA operates under a Memorandum of Understanding between ALI and the ABA which places primary responsibility with ALI and provides for a joint board of directors to oversee ALI-ABA activities.
ALI-ABA's multimedia approach to continuing legal education comprises a comprehensive range of educational materials and services. Institute members are encouraged to take part in ALI-ABA's activities by lecturing at ALI-ABA seminars or writing for ALI-ABA publications.
