Purpose:
This committee was appointed by ALI and the Uniform Law Commission (ULC) to draft modest modifications to the text and comments of UCC Article 9.
On the recommendation of the Permanent Editorial Board for the UCC, a joint review committee was formed in spring 2008 to examine the operation of Article 9 in practice and to identify any issues that should be addressed. The list of issues identified by the initial review committee is available below under Public Files.
The committee will not reconsider policy decisions made during the drafting of the Article, except as may be necessary to address any provisions that are creating significant problems in practice.
Status:
Summaries of the committee 's meetings are available below under Public Files. It is expected that the draft amendments to Article 9 will be submitted for approval at the 2010 Annual Meeting.
Drafts:
It is not currently anticipated that the Members Consultative Group for this project will meet separately, but MCG members will be notified of the committee’s meetings and of the availability of electronic drafts.
