Purpose:
This committee was appointed by ALI and the Uniform Law Commission to draft modest modifications to the text and comments of UCC Article 9.
On the recommendation of the Permanent Editorial Board for the UCC, a joint review committee was formed in spring 2008 to examine the operation of Article 9 in practice and to identify any issues that should be addressed. The list of issues identified by the initial review committee is available below under Public Files.
The committee will not reconsider policy decisions made during the drafting of the Article, except as may be necessary to address any provisions that are creating significant problems in practice.
Status:
Summaries of meetings of the committee are available below under Public Files. Draft amendments to Article 9 were approved at the 2010 Annual Meeting, subject to the discussion at the meeting and to editorial prerogative. The proposed amendments next will be submitted for approval at the 2010 annual meeting of the Uniform Law Commission.
