Marsha E. Simms retired from the partnership at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP in 2010. She was a partner in the New York office and member of the Corporate group.

She was elected to the ALI in 2002 and was elected to the Council in 2010. She served as an Adviser on Principles of the Law, Election Administration: Non-Precinct Voting and Resolution of Ballot-Counting Disputes.

Ms. Simms is a former chair of the Secured Transactions Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and currently serves on the ABA’s CEELI Committee. She has been a member of the Banking Law Committee and Committee on Minorities in the Profession of the New York State Bar Association. Also, she is past president of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (2006-2007).
