Margaret McKeown & Ruth Bader Ginsburg on 19th Amendment

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg joined M. Margaret McKeown of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit at Georgetown Law on Feb. 10 for a centennial celebration of the 19th Amendment co-hosted by the American Bar Association.

The two women embarked on a wide-ranging, hour-long discussion that traced a century’s worth of women’s rights history. Judge McKeown and Justice Ginsburg discussed several topics, including women in the legal profession, and gave insight into their personal and professional histories.

Judge McKeown concluded the event with questions from Georgetown Law students and Justice Ginsburg shared her thoughts on the important role young people have to play in defining the future of the legal landscape. She also stressed the importance of voters ensuring that they are properly registered.
