Principles of the Law, Compliance, Risk Management, and Enforcement - CANCELLED

Due to COVID-19, we are canceling the meeting of the Advisers and Members Consultative Group for the Principles of the Law, Compliance, Risk Management, and Enforcement, scheduled for Thursday, March 26. We will reschedule the meeting for the fall and let you know the new date as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact us at alimeetings@ali.org.

Please continue to send written comments on Preliminary Draft No. 5. To submit a comment, email it to PLCERcomments@ali.org or visit the Project page on the ALI website. Be sure that you are signed in, then click on the Comments tab. Here you will be able to see past comments as well as a button to submit your own. Type your comment directly into the text box or, if you prefer, you may upload a PDF or Microsoft Word document. Submitted comments will be forwarded directly to the Reporters, as well as ALI’s Director, Deputy Director Stephanie Middleton, and ALI Publications staff. Submitted comments will be viewable on the project page after they are posted by the staff.

In particular, Professor Jennifer Arlen would be very grateful, if by the end of March, you could submit reactions to her questions below:

  • My central question is really what features of what I did do you particularly approve of (focusing on the earliest sections on the structure of corporate criminal enforcement) and what features do you think need changing.

  • I also would like to know what features of what I did for criminal would need to be changed for the section on government civil enforcement. I plan to focus on civil enforcement in cases that could trigger collateral sanctions, so that I avoid all the minor little regulatory offenses, which is not the focus of what I’m doing.

  • I also very much welcome suggestions of text edits (ideally in track changes). Many of the group are better wordsmiths than I.

We look forward to seeing you in the fall, and, in the meantime, please stay well!
