Strengthening Bar Passage

“Showdown Over Law Schools’ Bar Pass Standard Set for Feb. 6,” featured in The National Law Journal, discusses the bid presented by the ABA to strengthen its bar passage requirement for law schools.  Dean of Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and ALI member Daniel B. Rodriguez speaks on urging the delay of the bar pass rule. Dean Rodriguez, who was formerly the President of the Association of American Law Schools, had this to say:

“What has changed is California. That’s one element that looks different in the light of day than it looked before. What also gave me some pause is there’s more we need to know that can only be known through more careful study careful study on bar performance, the impact of the test, the variation in cut scores between states, and the caliber of students schools are admitting.”
