Susan Bisom-Rapp Co-Authors 'Lifetime Disadvantage, Discrimination and the Gendered Workforce'

ALI member Susan Bisom-Rapp of Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, is releasing her newest co-authored book Lifetime Disadvantage, Discrimination and the Gendered Workforce through Cambridge University Press on September 30.

As summarized in a press release:

“Beginning in girlhood and ending in advanced age, ‘Lifetime Disadvantage, Discrimination and the Gendered Workforce’ examines each stage of the lifecycle and considers how law attempts to address the problems that inhibit women's labor force participation. Using their model of lifetime disadvantage, Professor Bisom-Rapp and her British co-author Malcolm Sargeant show how the law adopts a piecemeal and disjointed approach to resolving challenges with adverse effects that cumulate over time.”

An ALI member since 2007, Associate Dean Bisom-Rapp currently served Members Consultative Group for the now completed Restatement of the Law, Employment Law. She also serves on the Academic Advisory Board of the Marco Biagi Foundation at the University of Modena and Reggio Emili, Italy, and on the Editorial Board of the Employee Rights and Employment Policy Journal.
