ALI President Roberta Cooper Ramo was honored at the May 12 “Women as Lawyers and as Leaders” event at Harvard Law School’s Center on the Legal Profession. The award honored President Ramo for her pioneering role as the first female president of both the American Bar Association and the American Law Institute. Fellow honorees included Goodwin Procter Chairman Emeritus Regina Pisa; Mary Ann Hynes, the first female general counsel of a Fortune 500 company; and presenter Paulette Brown, the first African-American woman to lead the ABA.
The Center on the Legal Profession seeks to make a substantial contribution to the modern practice of law by increasing understanding of the structures, norms, and dynamics of the global legal profession.
