University of Arkansas School of Law Dean Emeritus Cynthia Nance is one of five U of A faculty members to be appointed to the Arkansas Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Comission. She has also served on the Arkansas Judges and Lawyers Assistance Committee. As an ALI member, Dean Nance serves on the Members Consultative Group for the Election Administration project.

Established by the Civil Rights Act of 1957, the Arkansas Advisory Committee serves as a bipartisan, independent, investigative federal agency in which members review alleged discrimination based on race, sex age, color disability, religion, age or national origin. The committee also reviews alleged voting rights deprivations.
