The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) has announced that Carolyn B. Kuhl of Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles is the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Jurist Award. Kuhl is receiving the award for “her distinguished career on the bench as well as for her contributions to the community and practice of law.”
The Outstanding Jurist Award is one of LACBA’s most prestigious award. It is a recognition of the recipient’s distinguished career on the bench and their contributions to the community and the practice of law. Kuhl was elected to the ALI in 1988 and to ALI Council in 2012. She was appointed to the Superior Court in 1995 and has served as presiding judge, as a supervising judge for the Civil Division, and on the court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
