Evan Chesler Elected NYU Chair-Designate

The New York University Board of Trustees has elected Evan R. Chesler of Cravath, Swaine & Moore board chair-designate. Chesler has been a trustee since 2006 and currently serves as a vice-chair and co-chair of the board’s development committee.

Chesler is a partner in litigation at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He was the firm’s presiding partner from 2007 to 2012. From 2013 to 2021 he served as the firm’s chairman, the first person to ever hold that title.
