We are saddened to report that ALI Member M. Roland Nachman, Jr., passed away on November 24. He was 91. Mr. Nachman, Jr., who most famously represented Commissioner Sullivan in his defamation suit against the New York Times (New York Times v. Sullivan), was a highly regarded trial attorney.
Mr. Nachman, Jr., served as President of the Alabama Bar Association from 1973 to 1974, as well as the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association. He was also a director of the American Judicature Society.
