Richard (“Dick”) Olaf Cunningham died on November 26 at the age of 79. A member of ALI since 2016, Cunningham served on the Members Consultative Groups for the Model Penal Code: Sexual Assault and Related Offenses and the Principles of the Law, Student Sexual Misconduct: Procedural Frameworks for Colleges and Universities projects.
"Dick was a member of the Steptoe family for more than five decades so encapsulating his impact on the firm’s history in just a few words is impossible," said Steptoe Chair Phil West in the firm’s statement. "Dick is renowned for shaping international trade law, and the current and continued strength of our international trade practice is a legacy of which he was rightly proud."
