Norman M. Powell of Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor has been elected Chair of the American Bar Association’s 30,000-member Business Law Section. He will serve a one-year term leading the Section, which provides resources and guidance to business law practitioners across the country.
“I am honored to assume this role within the ABA,” Powell said. “I look forward to partnering with other leaders of the Business Law Section to build on the Section’s core values: serving its members, the profession, and the public by providing educational resources; ensuring ethical and competent representation; and furthering the development and improvement of business law.”
Powell has more than 35 years of experience in transactional business law, with a practice focused on alternative entities, secured transactions, and complex financing matters involving Delaware corporations and other entities. In addition to his practice, he has served as Senior Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and Executive Director of the Institute for Law & Economics.
