Unwarranted: A Conversation on Policing

April 27, 2017

Policing Principles Project Reporter Barry Friedman of NYU School of Law, along with Sherrilyn Ifill of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and Trymaine Lee, national reporter for MSNBC and NBC News, joined in conversation with New America NYC on the contemporary debates about policing. Some of the topics covered include the role police play in our society, and society’s role in keeping them accountable. Professor Friedman’s book, Unwarranted: Policing Without Permission, examines the militarization of law enforcement and discriminatory policing.
