George
Tracey George holds a senior leadership role at Vanderbilt University as the Deputy Provost. She assists the Provost in overseeing the deans of the eleven colleges and schools and managing key academic areas, including the libraries, press, online education, and accreditation. She collaborates closely with other Vice Chancellor areas, including the Office of General Counsel, Athletics, and Administration. Since 2021, she has served as the University’s Faculty Athletics Representative to the SEC and the NCAA.
George is also a tenured law professor and holds the Charles B. Cox III and Lucy D. Cox Family Chair in Law and Liberty. George uses quantitative methods to understand how institutional design influences actions and outcomes in judicial systems and legal markets. Her work has been published in leading legal and social science academic journals and featured in print, radio, and tv media outlets. George is also a successful teacher and casebook co-author in contract law, having earned the Law School’s teaching prize nine times.
