Patrick Daugherty founded and leads the Blockchain and Digital Assets Practice of Foley & Lardner. He has served as an Adjunct Professor (Fall Semester, 2022-2024) at Cornell Law School and as an Adjunct Professor (Spring Semester, 2025) at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. He chairs the University of Chicago Law School Symposium on Digital Assets, an annual program featuring leading academics, practitioners and government officials in the digital assets field. His government service includes clerkships with two Chief Judges of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (Lloyd F. MacMahon and Edward Weinfeld, 1981 to 1982) and Counsel to SEC Commissioner Edward H. Fleischman (1986 to 1989).  Daugherty is a member of the Executive Committee of the Financial Services Committee of the Federalist Society.
