Barker

The Honorable J. Campbell Barker has served since 2019 as a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, with a duty station in Tyler. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute and alumni of the American Inns of Court Pegasus Scholarship. Before taking the bench, Judge Barker served as Deputy Solicitor General of Texas. Judge Barker previously worked as a partner in litigation boutique Yetter Coleman; as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Alexandria, Virginia; and as an appellate attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice. Before practicing law, Judge Barker clerked for judges on the Federal Circuit and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University; a J.D. with highest honors from the University of Texas School of Law; and a LL.M. from Duke University School of Law.
