Sarah Crane is an Iowa District Court Judge in the 5th Judicial District, based in Des Moines, Iowa. She was appointed to the bench in 2018. Judge Crane was appointed as a member of the Iowa Business Specialty Court in 2019 and continues to serve in that role in addition to her general judicial assignments.
Judge Crane received her bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College and her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. She previously worked in private practice and clerked on the Iowa Supreme Court.
Judge Crane is married to Federal District Court Judge Stephen Locher and they have four children.
