Huber
Judge James R. Huber was appointed to the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals by Governor Kevin Stitt in April 2023 and was retained by the people of Oklahoma in the 2024 General Election. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
In 1994, Judge Huber entered private practice with Malloy and Associates. From 2005 to 2019, he served as managing partner of the Collier and Huber Law Firm, with a concentration on commercial litigation, regulatory compliance, creditors’ rights, and employment law. During this time, he gained extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts.
In 2019, Judge Huber was appointed as a special judge by the Tulsa County District Judges. He was appointed District Judge in Tulsa County in October 2020 and later served as Chief Judge of the Family Division. In that capacity, he presided over trials, supervised six special judges, and handled the youthful offender criminal docket. He was re-elected to his district court position on June 28, 2022.
Judge Huber is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Oklahoma Judicial Conference. He serves on the Oklahoma Judicial Conference Legislative Committee and was President of the Hudson-Hall-Wheaton American Inn of Court.
