Reiter

Pamela R. Reiter is the owner and founding partner of Reiter Law Firm Prof. LLC, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her practice focuses on civil litigation, including trust and estate litigation, business disputes and other complex litigation. Before opening her own firm in 2023, Pamela was a federal district court law clerk for nearly fourteen years for the Honorable John Jones, Charles Kornmann and Lawrence Piersol. After clerking, Pamela joined Johnson, Janklow, Abdallah, & Reiter, LLP, in 2008, became an owner in 2013 and the managing partner in 2018. She opened Reiter Law Firm on January 1, 2023, with one other lawyer and paralegal. As of August 2026 the firm has expanded to seven lawyers, all of whom have clerked for federal or state court judges in South Dakota. Pamela has been and continues to be active in the work of the State Bar of South Dakota. She was sworn in as its President on June 23, 2017, and served in that capacity until June 2018. She served a four-year term as a member of the State Bar's Disciplinary Board from 2013 to 2017. Pamela has been appointed to several committees, including the Continuing Legal Education Committee, Lawyer Referral Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and served as the Chair of the Law School Committee for more than a decade. She was elected by her peers as Young Lawyer President early in her career. Her professional memberships include the American Bar Association and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. She received a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, graduating summa cum laude. She also graduated summa cum laude and first in her class from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1994. Pamela has been nationally recognized by Benchmark Litigation, Super Lawyers and Best Law Firms. Benchmark Litigation named her as one of the Top 250 Women in Litigation in 2017 and ranked her as a “litigation star.” Super Lawyers named her a top-rated lawyer from 2014-2023 and 2025 to the present. As of October 2023, and to the present, Reiter Law Firm achieved a Tier 1 ranking in Best Law Firms in the practice areas of trust and estate litigation and personal injury litigation. Pamela is an AV Preeminent Rated Attorney by Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards issued by this peer-review organization.
