Mazur
Orly Mazur is a Professor of Law at SMU Dedman School of Law, where she teaches federal income tax, corporate tax, real estate taxation, and tax and technology. Before joining the SMU faculty, Professor Mazur practiced in the Business Planning and Taxation group at Haynes and Boone, LLP and worked as a certified public accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where her practice focused on international taxation.
Professor Mazur's scholarship examines how technological change affects tax law, policy, and administration, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, the taxation of the digital economy, and international and comparative taxation. Professor Mazur is a Vice Chair of the International Tax Committee of the Tax Section of the State Bar of Texas, a past Chair of the Association of American Law Schools’ Section on Taxation, and a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Professor Mazur received her B.B.A. and M.P.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D., summa cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she was valedictorian and an articles editor of the SMU Law Review. She also holds an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU School of Law.
