Sean Tarantino is Associate General Counsel, Litigation at Koch Capabilities, LLC. In that role, he leads Koch’s litigation team and manages litigation, arbitration, and investigations for Koch and its affiliates.

Prior to joining Koch in 2011, Sean practiced law in the Chicago office of the law firm Jenner & Block LLP, focusing on complex commercial litigation, white-collar defense, and investigations. He also previously served in the military as a trial attorney in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps, with assignments as a prosecutor in Fort Rucker, Alabama (concurrently serving as Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama), and as a defense attorney in Fort Drum, New York.

Originally from upstate New York, Sean earned a bachelor’s degree and a juris doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Kansas. Sean and his wife, Kathleen, live in Wichita and have four children. 

Sean has been active with various Wichita nonprofits, including Wichita Festivals (board chair in 2024; board member from 2020-2026), FaithBuilders (temporary respite care family since 2021), and the Notre Dame Club of Wichita (president from 2017-2026). He serves on Wichita State University’s Pre-Law Advisory Council, where he assisted in the creation of a Legal Education Accelerated Degree (“LEAD”) program with University of Kansas Law School.  He regularly works with Koch and Kansas Legal Services to provide pro bono legal services, including expungements, to Wichita residents. He also is an active member of the Wichita chapter of the Federalist Society.

 He was honored in 2017 with a Top Litigation Counsel award from the First Chair Awards for In-House Counsel.   He also received a 2010 Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service, awarded by the Judges of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
