Upcoming CLE Program Features Recent SCOTUS Decision

July 05, 2017

On June 23, 2017, George Mason University Law School professor Steven J. Eagle’s 2014 law review article was cited by SCOTUS in the Murr v. Wisconsin decision. The opinion upheld the rulings of Wisconsin courts, finding that the family owners of two adjacent riverside lots were not entitled to compensation as a result of development regulations that barred the sale of one of the lots.

ALI CLE will host a webcast on July 25 about this decision and its impact on land owners, developers, and government regulators. The program will feature Professor Eagle; Sara Beachy, the trial counsel for the state of Wisconsin; John Green, who argued before SCOTUS on behalf of the Murr family; and  appellate lawyer Michael M . Berger.  The panel will be moderated by Robert H. Thomas of Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert.
