Using Generative AI in Chambers

Remote video URL

As technology evolves rapidly, courts must balance innovation with judicial responsibility. In this program, our panelist of judges discuss the responsible integration of generative AI in chambers.

Following a brief overview of how AI tools work, panelists outline key guardrails and demonstrate practical AI uses in chambers. The program concludes with an ethics mini-module demonstrating what ethical implications come into play.

This program is developed jointly by The American Law Institute and the Bolch Judicial Institute at Duke Law School. Panelists are speaking for themselves, not their respective courts. Use of any particular GenAI tool is intended to be exemplary and not an endorsement. Original air date: 11/17/2025
